GA on hold[edit]

In a hurry, so I'll point out obvious stuff - sorry :)

  • Please wikilink publishers like ESPN and BBC. Also italicise newspapers like The Boxing Times  Done
  • "Daniel defended this championship on four occasions" - refer to him as "Santos"  Done
    • "In 1994 Daniel represented Puerto Rico"  Done
    • "Daniel Santos debuted as a professional"  Done
    • "this marked Daniel's first defeat in the professional circuit."  Done
    • "Daniel Santos fought Ahmed Kotiev"  Done
    • "Daniel won the fight by knockout in the fourth round"  Done
    • "Daniel Santos and him was supposed to happen eight years before"  Done
    • "Daniel defended against Antonio Margarito"  Done
    • "and Daniel retained the welterweight championship by default."  Done
    • "Daniel won the fight when referee Joe Cortez intervened in the eleventh round"  Done
    • "On 17 August 2002 Daniel defended this championship"  Done
    • "that they had signed Daniel Santos"  Done
    • "ended Daniel won the contest by unanimous"  Done
    • "to promote Daniel's fights"  Done
  • "03 December 2005." - remove the "0" I believe you fixed that one
  • "where boxing is a common profession," - change to "was" so as to keep past tense  Done
  • "celebrated in Montreal, Canada.[3] Where he won the bronze medal" - don't think you want the full stop here...  Done
    • "against Andre Hawthorne in Fort Worth, Texas.[7] In a fight where he won by technical knockout in the first round." - same again  Done
  • "Santos compiled a record of twenty-one victories" - ref for this being a record - I don't think this is refering to a global record, but rather to his personal record
  • "winnig his first professional championship" - typo?  Done
  • "and it was televised on Showtime Too." - should that be "Showtime Two"? Nope, can't blame me for Showtime's bizarre desicions ;)
  • "the fight Santos' estrategy consisted" - typo, strategy?  Done
  • "On 28 June 2003 he defended against Fulgencio Zúñiga..." - source for this sentence  Done - I swear that this reference has been on my "favorites" (linked to this article's construction, not really a "favorite") for a while, but it somehow went unnoticed.
  • "Santos was under contract with Warrior's Boxing Promotions for one year his contract ended when he abandoned the promotion." - might need a comma or something here to make it more clear  Done
  • "At the moment of the announcemt Don King stated that: “Daniel is another proud Puerto Rican world champion and I’m excited to have him with me,” promoter Don King said." - you say "Don King" twice. Also the next sentence is a bit chopppy.  Done I did some tweaks here, the double Don King was there because it went unnoticed in the quote
  • "This event took place in a fight card presented in the Madison Square Garden, against José Antonio Rivera. The contest ended in the eight round when Rivera's corner surrendered by "throwing in the towell"." - wikilink Madison Square Garden and "throwing in the towel" (if there's an article for that)  Done - There is no article for towel throwing, and believe me when I tell you that my curiosity led me to check this before
