Type of unit section[edit]

This section says there were five divisions, but only four are listed: Guards, Royal, Princes, and Line. Djmaschek (talk) 21:18, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

B class review[edit]

C class. (1) Good work, but these sections are missing citations: Spanish Succession (paragraph 1), Alliance and Polish Succession (paragraph 1 and last sentence), Restoration (last sentence in paragraphs 1 and 3), Spanish expedition, and Final disbandment. (2) I could not understand the following phrase under the Bohemia section: "formed part of the relive element supporting the army". What does "relive" mean? Please fix. (3) It is not necessary to use multiple identical links. For example, French Flanders should only be blue linked one time. Please fix. (4) I made numerous minor edits, as listed below. Please see View history. Djmaschek (talk) 17:04, 24 August 2021 (UTC) Updated comment. Djmaschek (talk) 18:16, 24 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • People's titles (Marquis of Cornelius) should not be italicized. Italicizing the regiment's name is OK.
  • The past tense of "lead" is "led".
  • When writing about the side of a river, use the word "bank" as in "west bank of the Rhine". The word "shore" is used when referring to an ocean or lake; "coast" is used when referring to an ocean.
I honestly didn't even see this message for some reason. I'll starting working on it right away! J-Man11 (talk) 05:19, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Djmaschek I've added the refs as per request, if you wouldn't mind checking again. J-Man11 (talk) 03:56, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
J-Man11 B class. Sorry I missed some sections sections. Please make sure Type of unit has a citation. Provide citations (if possible) for Standards, Squadron standards, and Uniforms. Thanks. Djmaschek (talk) 02:03, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • The article had "3 x captains" in a number of places. These were all changed to "3 captains". The "x" is useful in some situations, but usually not in the narrative.
  • Under Reforms I changed "Each squadron" to "Each company". Otherwise, a squadron would only have 55 men.
  • Type of unit says that there were 5 branches, but only 4 are listed.
@Djmaschek: I've added the citations for the 'Type of unit' section. For the image gallery I'm not sure why citations/references would be needed? J-Man11 (talk) 03:37, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'll give this a go. ♦ jaguar 15:02, 2 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • The lead is too short per WP:LEAD and would benefit from expansion to summarise the article
  • "was to be recognised as his (thereby being part of France)" - remove these brackets and just add a comma
  • "these regions (among others) were handed over to France" - I'd remove this entirely. Also, would ceded instead of 'handed over' be better?
  • "handed over to Louis de Bourbon, Dauphin of France (heir to the French throne)" - again remove these brackets and insert a comma
  • The Franco Dutch War section is missing a hyphen (Franco-Dutch War)
  • "In yet another effort by Louis XIV to fortify and security France's borders" - secure
  • "tan small clothes and pants" - trousers?
  • "and saddle (with orange trim (with a black dashed line through the middle))" - remove all these brackets, it'll be fine in prose
  • "At the beginning of the Revolution" - this has already been linked (combat subsection)

That's all I have once again. I enjoy reading these. I'll put this on hold. jaguar 20:09, 2 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
