This article needs some serious rewritting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.59.206.178 (talk) 17:15, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

Facts in this artical need referencing. Claims like he had a pagan wedding and considers himself bisexual are placed in the artical in a "oh yeah and by the way" fashion that it makes me think they where made up--Reegan.milne 14:33, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

If they ever make a motion picture of Marvel Comics' "Dr. Strange" character, Dave Navarro would be an awesome casting choice! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.179.92.105 (talk) 01:18, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

April Navarro

Is Dave Navarro related to April Navarro ("Bubblez") from VH1's Flavor of Love (Season 1)? I saw a picture of them arm in arm on IMDB. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.51.158.12 (talk) 14:46, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

John Frusciante

Hope it's OK to ask a question here, I thought John Frusciante took Dave's place in the R.H.C.P but it says "Navarro was asked to join the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1993 after the departure of John Frusciante." Please help a new fan out. Thanks INXS-Girl 17:13, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

John was part of the RHCP since Mother's Milk, when their original guitarist, Hillel Slovak, died. John recorded two albums with RHCP, Mother's Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik, and stayed with them touring for a little while, but left in 1992 when he thought the original goodness of the band was gone, and that they were too popular now. RHCP obtained many other guitarists after another one left and so on to play in place of John until they could find a permanent guitarist, and they finally found Dave where he first appeared at Woodstock '94. Dave recorded One Hot Minute with RHCP, and that was their only album together. Dave left later as the band wasn't working with Dave, and Flea later went and found John, a huge drug addict then and one who almost died at one point, and John cleaned up and got back together with the band to record Californication. You should really read the article on the Red Hot Chili Peppers, as the article is greatly written with all the information you'll need. Xihix 22:38, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

This reads like a fan bio

Seriously, it's almost sickening reading this page. Particularly the Equipment section, which includes such phrases as "standard shredding guitars" (<- there is no "standard" group of shredding guitars). Can someone who isn't in love with Dave Navarro do a re-write? 75.69.110.227 02:38, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Early life

Who wrote this, a 9 year old? Worst structuring ever. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.230.119.26 (talk) 01:31, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Kiedis comment

Umm could we have some sources stating that Anthony Kiedis sent his own poo to D

A: No. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.230.119.26 (talk) 01:32, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Hendrix Inspiration

It says in this article that Navarro was inspired to play guitar at age twelve after hearing about the death of Jimi Hendrix. If this were true, then he would have begun playing guitar at three years old, as Hendrix died in 1970 and Navarro was born in 1967. Either this claim is completely false, or Dave only heard that Hendrix was dead nine years after the fact. Seems fairly obvious to me. 24.65.142.164 00:29, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

It would not make him 3 years old - there's no mention that he heard about it on the date of the death of Hendrix. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.230.119.26 (talk) 01:36, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Sourcing

this is a BLP, people, and the sourcing needs to be a lot tighter than it is. I have trimmed a bit, but I strongly urge you all to attempt to source the rest of the article much better, or I will have to trim more. KillerChihuahua?!? 03:36, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

LGBT

I reverted the LGBT category. Dave has said "I've come to realize through my experimentation over the years that I'm not gay, nor am I bisexual". Source: Len Righi, "Channeling Dave Navarro", Morning Call (Allentown, Pennsylvania), May 25, 2006, P. E29. -- JHunterJ 15:19, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

I suppose I won't make an edit... but... if you've "experimented" over the years with men, and you have found that you prefer women... guess what? You're bisexual. Iamvered 19:54, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
What? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Craigboy (talkcontribs) 01:49, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Yes it's true, anytime you lose your virginity, there's not much you can do about it. The same goes with when a man "expiriments" with another man or when a woman "experiments" with another woman. I believe it makes no sense that Dave claims he's heterosexual after he "expirimented" with some guys as it is clear that he officially is bisexual the moment he has a relationship with another male and then suddenly decides to make out with women instead. If he were to be a complete heterosexual as he claims, then he would not have made love to a male first before dating Carmen. When you look at it, it's almost like disgraced reverend Ted Haggard when he made love to gay hooker Mike Jones before it all came out in the open, and then after going through his supposed "treatment" he no claims he's completely heterosexual. It just does'nt make sense whatsoever.

Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, an offical policy of Wikipedia, states:

Category tags regarding religious beliefs and sexual orientation should not be used unless two criteria are met:

The subject publicly self-identifies with the belief or orientation in question; The subject's beliefs or sexual orientation are relevant to the subject's notable activities or public life, according to reliable published sources.

Therefore, if Navarro does not identify as gay or bi, he does not belong in those categories. Asarelah (talk) 05:43, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Spread

Does anyone know what's happened to Dave Navarro's Spread TV? I've been trying to get the website up for a week but keep getting a "Not Found" error message. Thanks 86.29.238.95 (talk) 13:03, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

Departure from the RHCP

Dave Navarro has not been with the RHCP from "1993-Present" as the "Professional Career" section states. He left the band after "One Hot Minute" Pepper Guitar Mill Grinds On Gigeoxy (talk) 16:13, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Porno Director

Didn't Dave Navarro direct a porno called Broken? [1] starring Sasha Grey? [2]. I put it on his page but someone deleted it. Maybe we could find a way to put it back in? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jammyfox (talkcontribs) 04:46, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Rock Star: INXS and Supernova

Absolutely nothing about two seasons of Rock Start where he hosted? — 137.122.97.165 (talk) 16:47, 11 January 2010 (UTC) CMR - 2010-01-11

Drug Addiction

Navarro's extensive battles with alcohol and heroin are glaring omissions from this bio.

Very much so. It's not like there aren't copious sources available.

Pics?

Why four (FOUR, 4) pictures of this minor footnote in the history of music? I love Jane's Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but four pictures of Navarro in his article seems TOO MUCH. For a start, the first two are essentially the same: Navarro at his most groomed, straight-haired, eyeliner-friendly, metrosexual self. Two photographs seems redundant: we get the picture with just the one. And the last two photographs are way too similar to be justified: Navarro as he always is when performing: well-groomed and shirtless. Leave two pictures at most. Although it should really just be the one: this is Dave Navarro, not Chuck Berry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.99.193.239 (talk) 00:06, 16 May 2010 (UTC) 81.99.193.239 (talk) 00:06, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

1993-1998

Here it states that One Hot Minute was a 'commercial success', though on the One Hot Minute page describes it as a 'commercial disappointment'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.29.197.150 (talk) 00:40, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Mexican American

Dave Navarro has never admitted to being Mexican American. He's played up all his European DNA. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.207.116.55 (talk) 20:01, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

Piercings and Tattoos

Do these have any place here, maybe as trivia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.12.143.197 (talk) 04:40, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Probably not; see WP:TRIVIA#Practical steps suggestion. -- JHunterJ 10:30, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
With Dave it'll be difficult to enumerate every single one and describe it. The large one on his lower back in large gothic characters seems to spell "Constance". --Jerome Potts (talk) 03:00, 9 March 2014 (UTC)

Mourning Son

In November 2015, a documentary about the domestic abuse and eventual murder of Dave's mother was released.

I was wondering if anyone had been able to find the instructional video referenced in this section? If so, how should it be cited to be included as a source?
