David Buick (politician)David Buick – As there isn't another page with the title 'David Buick', the disambiguator may not be needed. There is, however, an existing redirect pointing to David Dunbar Buick. It should be ok to move this article over the redirect, but I thought I'd ask rather than just go ahead. There aren't any articles redirecting via that redirect page. Schwede66 04:39, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • comment which is the primary topic for "David Buick"? Even if there isn't another page called "David Buick", it doesn't mean that the politician is the primary topic, since it could be that some other article contains the primary topic, especially if the other article is one of several names used by that topic. 76.65.128.198 (talk) 05:53, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment -- The question is which David Buick is the primary topic - the founder of the Buick motor company or the NZ politician. Whatever the outcome, the non-primary subject should be linked by a hatnote. Since there are only two of them, it it not necessary to have a dab-page. • Oppose - The inventor is far more notable internationally. Best to leave the redirect as it is although I agree with the hatnote proposal. -- Derek Ross | Talk 02:12, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose – In general, forcing a primary topic is not a great idea. This name is ambiguous, and we have ways of dealing with that. Dicklyon (talk) 02:55, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. The automaker's article should be titled, David D. Buick. But he should not interfere with this move. Kauffner (talk) 06:04, 21 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
