Requested move

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: consensus to move the disambiguation page to the plain title; article moved to David A. Kennedy for now. If a further move of that article to include a parenthetical is desired, please initiate a new discussion, although the article does not seem to imply that he was known for being a journalist or writer. David Kennedy → TBD; David Kennedy (disambiguation)David Kennedy
David Anthony Kennedy may well be the primary topic in the USA, but for the English, Irish, Scots, Australians and New Zealanders (who all have a prominent figure also named David Kennedy), this may not be true. I'd suggest to make David Kennedy the disambiguation page. —capmo (talk) 20:04, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've added it. DH85868993 (talk) 23:36, 22 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Not sure what we should move the current page to at the moment. While David Anthony Kennedy would be a possibility, it does not seem to be his most WP:Commonname. (Kennedy family) sounds like it is revealing nothing, but given that the usage of the term Kennedy family seems to be quite unambiguous I would be ok with it. If not that, and we still want to aim to disambiguate by his best known role, (son of Robert F. Kennedy) or (son of RFK) would work.--Yaksar (let's chat) 16:34, 22 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
What about David A. Kennedy? The disambiguation page says he was a writer (?), so David Kennedy (writer) or David Kennedy (journalist) are also alternatives, although I concur that he's probably best known for being a member of the Kennedy family instead of for his writings. —capmo (talk) 16:54, 22 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
