Incorrect/missing screenplay writer[edit]

Why don't I see Michael F. Haspil's name anywhere? Day Shift is obviously the movie version of the book GraveYard Shift, authored by Haspil and first published in 2017. The book cover and the movie poster look the same as well, the poster adding Jamie Foxx. There is simply no possible way they are not the same, so why isn't Haspil's name or book mentioned? 47.26.131.87 (talk) 06:18, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It just isn't. Adamcreen (talk) 10:58, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It just isn't? Forgive my ignorance, when did copyright/plagiarism laws cease to exist? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.26.131.87 (talk) 18:42, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is supposed to be based on reliable sources. Show a reliable source linking this film to that book and then we can add something. If the connection is as clear and obvious as ip47 says then it should not be difficult to find reliable sources comparing this film to that book. -- 109.78.200.232 (talk) 10:37, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Plagiarism is a strong accusation. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and Wikipedia must not include libelous claims. If no reliable sources are forthcoming it would not surprise me if administrators find it necessary to delete the unfounded accusation from this Talk page entirely. -- 109.76.205.82 (talk) 21:47, 22 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
