This article is written in Canadian English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, centre, travelled, realize, analyze) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. Inaccurate name[edit]

Rue de la Montagne is not called "Mountain street", even by anglophone Montrealers. --Nenuphar11 (talk) 17:46, 19 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently the older ones do (or did?): http://www.montrealgazette.com/life/Montreal+linguistic+divides+generational/6941731/story.html. Anecdotal, but the only anglophone Montrealer I've heard ever use the Anglicized form also still refers to the temperature in fahrenheit. --Cornellier (talk) 23:56, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
