Deanes Coaches (South)[edit]

The Menai Bus Service trading name was retained until the Southtrans trading name was adopted. As at least one Hadfield repaint into Deane livery carried Menai signwriting,[1] would appear unlikely the Deanes Coaches name was used. Only reference to the Deane name was in the legal entity, Deanes Coaches (South) Pty Ltd.[2]

The image[3] clearly does display the Deanes Coaches name, however it is from 1995/96, not 1989 as:

  • advertisement is for the January 1996 Coke Surf Classic
  • the Bustrans Hino in the background dates from November 1994
  • legal signwriting is carried below the driver’s window, this was only introduced in 1994

Can only think perhaps it was a mistake at the spraypainters that saw the Deane's signwriting applied, as the Southtrans brand was retained until the Connex sale. Even when a coach operation was established in the mid-1990s, this operated under the Southtrans name. Mo7838 (talk) 19:04, 25 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
