Department of Education[edit]

The U.S. Department of Education also issues Dear Colleague letters, but this is not addressed anywhere in the page. Considering that some of those letters have been pretty important, I feel like this is a major oversight, but I don't know enough about Dear Colleague letters in general to create the section. Dear colleague letter (United States)Dear Colleague letter (United States) – There most certainly no consensus by the reliable English media to leave the word "colleague" uncapitalized. "Dear Colleague" is the preferred choice of reliable sources as well as the way the phrase is actually formatted in most "Dear Colleague" letters.
