Irene Hughes obituary

I oppose referring to Irene Hughes (deceased 12/7/12) as a psychic. Unless there is a preponderance of evidence demonstrating that she possessed psychic skills, she should be referred to as "self-proclaimed psychic" or "alleged psychic." Berthold Albrecht

As this list is based on individual dates, if a specific date of death is unknown we can only report against the date that the death was announced. If a source provides the actual date of death, please provide it so that the listing can be updated. WWGB (talk) 00:30, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Ravi Shankar COD

The page was semi-protected back in Jan. 2012 so your 2011 edit would show up. I think, even if you are auto-confirmed, it won't allow you to edit in semis unless you add something to your main page. It still thinks of you as "unconfirmed." Try adding a simple template {{User page}} to your main page and then edit here. make these 'death by month' files a single file.

These 'deaths in 20xx' files should be a singe file, with month separators, so one can scroll down them. One often knows or suspects someone has died in a certain year, but not when. The problem is the amount of memory and scrolling that would be required. As it is now because of the new citation system, the file gets unweildy around 250k+ each month. Many people also use smartphones to access the page and they have a humongous problem with the page because of its size already. That is one of the big reasons that the files are all split out. Colin Davis

Extremely lazy googling by whomever added Davis.

As proved both here - http://www.classicandsportscar.com/news/obituaries/rip-1964-targa-florio-winner-colin-davis and http://www.oldracingcars.com/driver/Colin_Davis also here, that Davis died on the 19th December. The news was actually first reported on the 21st December, but I'm not a member so couldn't add him on the main page.

I will take care of it, but you need to check the attitude at the door. This is a living document. As the information trickles in, more people become aware of the death and begin to investigate. If a death date isnt cited in the original article tags like (death announced on this date) or (body discovered on this date) will be put in as a placeholder until more information becomes available. This was done by whomever it was that added Davis. As another example, I put in Niall FitzGerald for the 24th knowing full well that he died last week. However, there was no date cited and no immediate death date could be found in a browser search. I am sure in the next few hours, that date will become known as the Irish press start digging, but until then, it will go on the 24th with a tag. And one more point, if you hit the "View History" on the page (up in the top right corner) you can check out who is adding what and various editor notes as the names are put in. Many times the editor will cite the need for more information. Sunnydoo (talk) 04:11, 24 December 2012 (UTC)

Rip Hawk
