May I suggest a map? Not everyone will be familiar with these place names, and it would help to have a general map of the flooding (to the extent that this is feasible). --Dawud — Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.37.187.185 (talk) 02:58, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That would be even better. I would like to assist on making a map for the flooding. (PenangLion (talk) 13:02, 26 December 2021 (UTC))[reply]
But before we proceed to that, we need to have the detailed information on what are the areas flooded. As in we break it down as small as each of the Taman (residential) or mukim area in each state. Probably we need to collect all of these data from all online news sources or government statistical/meteorological sites. Then only once all of those location-based meta data have been completed, we can start to construct the flood mapping. Chongkian (talk) 05:03, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Increasing the article's quality[edit]

I have a notion to push the quality of this article to least a B in future assessments. Any advices?

Redefining the floods[edit]

I would like to categorize the floods into two / three waves:
1. The first wave was defined by Bernama. Turns out, they included the flooding at Kelantan on early December as part of the master event. The floods from this supposed wave began on 4 December.
2. The first/second wave are from the after-effects from TD29W, this wave began on 16 December and ended on 21. Flooding persisted until Christmas.
3. The second/third wave was what happened shortly after Christmas. This was not resulted by TD29W, but from the usual monsoon season. This wave began on 30 December. It has now affected 3 states. See, Bernama defines this wave as the "third".
This article still revolves around the first/second wave.

Should we include the first wave (from 4 December)?
I hope other editors can try and make some changes to accommodate the second/third wave.
Hope this clarifies. (PenangLion (talk) 12:02, 31 December 2021 (UTC))[reply]

Status of floods[edit]

Are the floods continuing as of January 2022? It seems to be over and no longer a current event. Most news articles about this are about the controversy regarding the government response. --WikiCleanerMan (talk) 19:56, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it has ended 3 days ago (19th), with 59 dead. PenangLion (talk) 04:33, 22 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
