Advertising?[edit]

I'm going to argue for the retention of the references recently removed as "advertising". Perhaps it is of some relevance, though not (yet) noted in the article that it is highly unusual for a modern-day professional bike racer to use a steel framed bike. Almost all use space age components and their bikes are supplied by sponsors, not home-built by family members. It was the last time since I-don't-know-when that a racer, male or female, won an important race with a steel-framed bike. Hence, the bike and its builder are of at least passing interest in themselves.
