This article seems particularly biased. Obviously Myers' drunk driving arrest is notable enough to include, but the primary picture in the article looks something like a mug shot, which is beneath a former WH Press Secretary. 69.252.171.182 04:06, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DUI charge[edit]

Is that really necessary? 68.49.45.29 (talk) 04:01, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I argue that a single DUI charge isn't notable, unless the incident precipitated other significant events. I'm removing text related to the DUI charge from the main article.--Biggus Dictus (talk) 04:06, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think this article fails to paint the entire picture of her life. The DUI charge helps a reader understand her job history, if nothing else. Think without the DUI charge, the article is biased. Dallenva (talk) 13:26, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I was told about her problems, which I would otherwise never have known of by reading this article. --Crackthewhip775 (talk) 07:51, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm removing this content, again "The DUI note clearly fails WP:HARM#TEST. It does not carry due weight relative to subject's notability. WP:UNDUE" --Biggus Dictus (talk) 00:28, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cameo[edit]

At IMDB she is credited with a cameo "as herself" in Contact (film). --93.134.245.211 (talk) 05:10, 6 March 2010 (UTC) This woman is nothing but a joke as is (was) her career and Bill Clinton. Hide as much as possible but make public all else on eveybody else!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.217.64.202 (talk) 12:54, 26 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Picture[edit]

Wow, is there no other public domain picture available other than a poorly lit shot of her in profile? 76.67.60.31 (talk) 02:57, 13 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think any knowledgable editor who looks at the current version of this article will agree it is not very good. Contra BLP policy, there is almost no sourcing provided for the information in this article. There is also not very much information in this article, period. So I've prepared an alternative version of this article which I think should replace it, and it's visible in my user space here: User:WWB_Too/Dee_Dee_Myers.

This version intends to be more complete and encyclopedic, and is far better reinforced with reliable sources. Where possible I have used online sources, however I found quite a bit of good information in articles available in news databases that is not online. If anyone who reviews this has any specific questions about the sources or any of the facts included, I'm happy to respond.

Now, the reason I haven't replaced the current article with mine is the same reason I've placed an edit request on the article: I've undertaken this project on behalf of the firm where Ms. Myers works, Glover Park Group, so I'm mindful of following conflict of interest guidelines and the paid editing essay. In addition, I'll place a note about this article at COI/N shortly.

Also, per the question above from September of last year, I've been provided a publicity photo for which she owns the copyright, and my next goal will be to seek permission for its use via OTRS. Cheers, WWB Too (talk) 15:13, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hats off to you for the approach you've taken. If no-one else picks up on this, I'll review the new article next Wednesday evening (UK time) and all being well, move it across. Sadly that's the next time I'll have any time free. --Tagishsimon (talk) 15:53, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Tagishsimon, it's very appreciated. I'll certainly be around next week to discuss any questions, if you have them. Cheers, WWB Too (talk) 18:52, 9 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Following this discussion at WikiProject Biography, I have moved the new draft into place. If any questions, please contact me on my user Talk page. Cheers, WWB Too (talk) 18:35, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So, apologies, I come late to the party. It's a good factual & well referenced article without hyperbole. Thanks for contributing it. --Tagishsimon (talk) 21:14, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This article is much improved after recent edits. One note: this passage, "According to the Detroit Free Press, Myers earned a reputation for her "humour and patience" in handling the White House press corps, often delivering "quick one-liners" while issuing daily press briefings.[10] Until September 1994, when she was given the rank of Assistant to the President,[11] she held the lesser title of "deputy assistant" and had a lower salary than previous White House Press Secretaries.[12] She also lacked consistent access to Clinton's inner circle.[13] This was frequently noted in news coverage about Myers throughout her term,[1][13] and is addressed in her 2008 book, Why Women Should Rule The World.[14]" comes off a little like a sales pitch for the book, and does not strike me as neutral (though it is well-substantiated). Just my opinion. --Biggus Dictus (talk) 07:44, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Biggus, any alternate suggestion for a change to the wording? Seems OK to me (but then, I wrote it) so if you have an idea in mind for another way, give it a try. Cheers, WWB Too (talk) 04:38, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Updates needed[edit]

This article notes she now works for Warner Bros. and has moved to LA so perhaps someone could update the article.--S Philbrick(Talk) 14:35, 21 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
