Ireland

[edit]

(The Republic of) Ireland should be mentioned too. We also continue to maintain deeds registration as well as land registration, because - unlike in the UK - land registration is not compulsory at transaction. Unregistered land may remain unregistered indefinitely, until such a time as the government makes registration compulsory or all landowners voluntarily arrange for registration (which is unlikely as it's an expensive process). Alas I don't know enough about it to add it myself.--Dub8lad1 14:49, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would be uncomfortable to seek this page merged with recording real-estate. While the page does not (as yet) reflect it registration of deeds can be used outside of a real estate context. FrankFlanagan (talk) 14:05, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Then I think the deeds registration article should be recreated if and when such information is provided. Until then, with respect to real estate, the two articles should be merged. Int21h (talk) 19:40, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
