Suggestions for improvements
[edit]Dcave1 I looked through the article and it is pretty good. I do want to point out in general to you WP:COI. It seems like you might have a COI that should should at least put on your User page. That said the article seems to be done very well from a WP:NPOV. Here are more specific recommendations for the article:
I would trim down the lead I think both of these sentence would got better in the technique section. "A reference hole is drilled through a component and its diameter accurately measured before and after stress release, which is achieved by removing material around the hole. The differences between the measured diameters before and after stress release enables the original residual stresses to be calculated using elasticity theory."Step by step procedure should be eliminated. Some of the content might be kept but turned into prose. Think what someone needs to know who is just curious what it is and how it works not wants to do it.Young's modulus should probably be modulus of elasticityIn incremental section this sentence does not make sense "Plasticity is more of a problem in hole drilling techniques than for MSR techniques using straight cuts, due to the approximately x3 stress concentrating factor of holes[3]." A cut will have a stress concentration up to almost infinite versus a hole is only 3. It is actually common to drill out a crack to make it a hole. Cut are better then cracks but worse then wholes. Sharp things are bad for stress concentrations. In "A lower Young's modulus will result in larger distortions for a given strain release, meaning a higher measurement resolution and thus a greater achievable accuracy." strain should be stress I am pretty sure. Given strain release will always result in the same distortion.Advantages section. What are they advantages over.- Disadvantages. how does it do with anisotropic materials
- I think you should look at Template:Convert as a number of people reading English Wikipedia are Americans
The citations generally go after the punctuation on wikipedia

New site name
[edit]Dear Sir or Madam,
the institute of machining technology (technical university of dortmund) is the author of the German article „Tiefbohren“ (Deep Hole Drilling). We would like to write a technically correct article about the deep hole drilling. Unfortunately, the term deep hole drilling is in use for a measuring technique that has nothing in common with the actual deep hole drilling. We would therefore suggest renaming the current page to "Deep Hole Drilling Mesaurement technicus" to produce a correct article on the process.
Thank you for your assistance,
institute of machining technology. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ISF Dortmund (talk • contribs) 13:30, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
