renaming

[edit]

Since 1 January 2015, DISC has been JITG (Joint Intelligence Training Group). I propose to rename this article and fix all redirects. Any opposition? The joy of all things (talk) 19:09, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

G'day, I believe that this should be ok, but can you please provide a reference for the name change? It would be good to mention this in the article. Additionally, historic references should remain to DISC if that is what it were called at the time, using a piped link. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 23:16, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
G'day indeed - Yes I do have a ref (which is why it has taken me so long in getting the name changed). Most of the links will just be amendments as the units attached/lodged there are still extant and now belong to JITG. However, I intend to work through every one and make sure it works out (I believe there are only thirty anyway). Best wishes to you (hope it's a nice day in Australia!)
I have mentioned this renaming on the Wikiproject Military History page as there have been no responses until now. The joy of all things (talk) 23:35, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Change of article name to MoD Chicksands

[edit]

Hello, why has the name of this article been changed to Ministry of Defence Chicksands, when all articles within Category:Installations of the Ministry of Defence (United Kingdom) use the MoD prefix? Gavbadger (talk) 18:27, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - I agree it should be MoD Chicksands or MOD Chicksands, as in MoD Bicester, MoD Corsham, MoD Donnington, MoD Feltham, MoD Kineton, MoD Shoeburyness and MOD St Athan. I note that the Ministry of Defence styles itself MOD (see Working for MOD). So perhaps the prefix should be MOD (all in capitals) for all of them. Hello, happy for MOD Chicksands per your reference. Gavbadger (talk) 18:57, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It wouldn't let me change it to MOD Chicksands myself for technical reasons, but I put in a request for rename to MOD Chicksands BritishSpaniard (talk) 09:00, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
