I'd be interested in who brought the prosecution, in what is known about their expressed or imputed reasons for doing so, in what organisations appeared to hold influence - if they were elected who paid their campaign expenses, if they were re-elected ditto. I'd be interested in the arguments, in short summary, and reasoning. I'd be interested in the parallel if any with the Lady Chatterley's Lover trial - the DH Lawrence novel - in the UK, which changed the boundaries on mass publishing of print material, and allowed one's servants to read all sorts of stuff... I live a long way away, and am not in a good position to actually dig that out and write the article myself, so here are some suggestions.
