Burial place error[edit]

Denzil Holles was not buried in St Margaret's Church, in Ifield, Sussex; he was buried in Westminster Abbey. His family are buried in Ifield (now part of Crawley), but not he himself.

The Holles family vault, in St Margaret's Church, Ifield, began to fill from 1662. This suggests Denzil Holles was living here at this time; but he had several manor houses in the South of England, including London. Holles's importance allowed his body the honour of the Abbey; but his family, of lesser importance, were buried in Ifield Parish Church. Peter symonds 18:31, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ordinality[edit]

According to Firth's article in the DNB (both 1904 and 1909 editions), Denzil was second, not third, son of Clare. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.178.95.14 (talk) 15:13, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

B class review[edit]

This article would be B class, except that the Legacy section has the following issues. Please fix. Djmaschek (talk) 05:08, 1 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Last sentence is not cited. Please cite if possible.
  • List of pamphlets is not cited. If you have a source, the citation might be put after the word "including".
  • Footnote 37 (National Trust) is a dead link.
Removed the National Trust; part of the original article and I can't (easily) trace the claim; ditto James Bolam; added Firth reference (covers all the publications). Tx. Robinvp11 (talk) 10:07, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
