Gadfium, I’m sure the IP is right but I can’t see a source that backs it up. Andrew Turner was first elected to CCC in 2013, a term earlier than Swiggs. If I remember correctly, Turner was out; this piece implies it but doesn’t say so outright. I know Deon well and thus can’t edit the article. Maybe the "first" should go. Schwede66: If he's not the first openly-gay person elected to the council, is it even worth mentioning? The existing source is lacking if it has this wrong, and it doesn't support "He is a supporter of the LGBTQ community" although I have no reason to doubt that is true.-gadfium 18:21, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
