Rivality explanation[edit]

This article is quite impartial in the explanation of the rivalry between RCD Espanyol and FC Barcelona. In some parts the text becomes a bit embarrassig. The texts is deficient, it is not mention the catalanism, nor the Catalan independence movement and the phrases are constructed in a somewhat unfair way so that you can see a club as the culprit of the hatred professed by opposing fans.

Speaks about the majority of the population of Barcelona saw a club as a "centralist" in the 30's, here it should be mentioned that the Catalan elite, that is to say the power in the city and in the region, chose a club to represent his political proclamation. With the aim of not to hide the reality or make want to see a thing as good or bad.

The article name the Franco dictatorship, well, FC Barcelona ceased to be a banner of Catalanism partially during the dictatorship, and had no problem decorating the dictador with the gold and brilliant badge of the club in 1951 for example. It does not speak of the current situation, of Catalan independence, he even says that the derby is less political because the Espanyol has changed his name to Catalan from Spanish as if that were to stop provoking or something similar. The article is somewhat misleading.

I sincerely believe that it is convenient to situate things from an objective point of view and simply reflect some facts that can explain what is the real situation of the rivalry between the two clubs.--95.22.121.52 (talk) 16:59, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
