er, um....
[edit]I was adding similar material as added here to the Dewdney, British Columbia page and there was t his on the Dewdney Community cite from the MCA:
- December 1934 a group of men from the venereal disease hospital in Deroche created local excitement: on a protest march for better conditions, the men crossed over from Nicomen Island to Dewdney, where they were greeted by MLA, D.W. Strachan. The crowd moved into Dewdney Community Hall, where they sheltered for the night. They left the following day for Mission, then continued to Vancouver, and after five days on the road, were finally returned to Deroche by truck.
gonna have to research that; sounds like something related to Vancouver's labour unrest in that period rather than a medical camp.....hundreds of men had been taken from a train stopped by gatling gun at Hatzic during the On-To-Ottawa uprising, these were probably some of them...Skookum1 (talk) 09:54, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
