Article needs work[edit]

This article is either wildly inaccurate, OR has neglected a great deal of the details about the ownership of the home, the genealogy of those who lived there, etc. DO NOT use this wiki article in any official research papers, something is definitely wrong with it. I know this, because my grandparents lived on this plantation previously, and they are in their 90's, meaning they must have lived there in round about the 1920's or 30's. It bears mentioning that the house didn't become a barren wasteland with no life prior to it's sale to x or y person.

In fact, it also bears pointing out that this article has absolutely no documentation backing it up. NONE. If you are doing research about Destrehan Plantation, and happen to be in the area, please go take the tour. They have more to tell you than this wiki article. There are also pictures on the wall near the entry, where you buy tour tickets, of families who previously lived there (including my grandparents). The St. Charles Parish court house in Hahnville (less than 20 minutes from the house), can give you birth records and the like if you want to dig really deep into this. Most of the families that lived in the house in the 1900's have largely remained in the St. Charles parish area. I lived there until the age of 24, and thereby personally confirm this, though only in a vague sense.

On second thoughts, requestor has not edited since asking for split. It is not obvious what is actually required so remove split
