Thackers

[edit]

I am new to wiki and don't know if this is the right place for this, but I was looking for the house that Alison Uttley called Thackers in her book A Traveller in Time. The home of Anthony Babbington.

Wiki has no mention of Thackers.

A Traveller in Time by Alison Uttley is set in Dethick manor, near her childhood home. She calls it Thackers in the book. A Traveller in Time (first published 1939) is based on her childhood dreams and the conversations around her. The narrator remembers a childhood visit to relatives living at Thackers whose family have lived there since the time of Anthony Babington. The past seems so near that she can step into it.
