Deletion comment[edit]

You nominated my article, "Dr. Dharambir Agnihotri" for deletion. He is my grandpa who is a very hardworking man and the fact that you say that there is lacking media coverage about him, you should go on youtube and search his name. When you do so you will see many news channels with videos about him(If you want links I can provide them). Along with this his name has been featured in many online newspapers multiple times. Not only this, there are many punjab politicians(I can name about 30) on this website that receive less coverage than my grandpa therefore, they should be deleted as well. Why would you want to delete this page, Wikipedia has nothing to lose by having information about more people. As a matter of fact this only benefits the website because they are providing its readers with more information.

Aksharma2323 - as I mentioned on my talk page response to your posting:

Hi, I can totally understand your feelings. I have two great grandfathers who did ground-breaking work in their own ways and I would like to have a wikipedia article for them as well. Unfortunately, neither of them would meet the guidelines for WP:GNG. Being on social media or youtube doesn't factor into the equation of significant coverage.
The key issue is that he's a local politician. If he was a national politician, then that would be different. Perhaps this is a case of WP:TOOSOON. The places to look are the guidelines I have mentioned in the AfD - WP:GNG and WP:POLITICIAN.
We have an issue in that you are writing about someone with whom you have a close connection - or conflict of interest, so I will note the article accordingly. Any edits that you wish to make after this should be made with a {{request edit}}. –CaroleHenson (talk) 23:17, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The previous deletion method, called Prod, is for uncontested deletions. Since you removed the Prod tag, I have nominated it for deletion for AfD, which means that it will be subject to discussion within the Wikipedia community. In that time, if you'd like to see if you have better luck finding sources, you may check this tool for finding reliable secondary sources: Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWLCaroleHenson (talk) 23:34, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

–CaroleHenson Ok how about the fact that you are not deleting any of the other accounts with insignificant coverage. It is not only youtube he has been mentioned in very famous internet news papers a multiple amount of times. The fact that 60,000 people voted for him does that make him seem like a local politician to you? He represents over 150,000 people that is more than the amount of people that a member of the Connecticut State Senator represents. However, 90% of Connecticut's state senators are on Wikipedia. Therefore, why aren't they local politicians. My Grandpa got more votes than the amount of total votes placed in any of Connecticut's State Senate race. Therefore, just because my Grandpa is from India that doesn't mean that he shouldn't be on wikipedia while less famous American politicians should be. In my opinion, I think that you are discriminating against the Indian race. --Aksharma2323 (talk) 23:43, 24 March 2017 (UTC)Aksharma2323[reply]

–CaroleHenson By the way you also just said that since my grandpa is not a national politician so my article should be deleted. Why don't you delete Chris Christie's wikipedia page he is a state politician?--Aksharma2323 (talk) 23:51, 24 March 2017 (UTC)aksharma2323[reply]
