[edit]This article is absolutely limitated to Eastern Lombard. In Western Lombard the derivation and the desinences are completely different. --User:84.222.14.67 22 January 2007

[edit]What is this article? There are no inline citations, formatting is weird, wording is weird. What is "metaphonesis"? Did you mean "metaphony"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.146.41.16 (talk) 15:39, 16 October 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Why can't -e be derived from Latin -ae instead of -as, anologically to how the palatalization & umlaut are derived from -i, not from -os? I know that some people make wild assumptions based on how it's amico -- amici (the original state), but amica -- amiche (with analogical levelling; the word is used less frequently than amico) in Italian, but even these assumptions aren't stated anywhere. There's just a series of improbable statements here. 89.171.39.202 (talk) 19:55, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
- See Romance plurals § Origin of vocalic plurals. The weight of all the evidence, including more obscure evidence, when examined carefully, on balance speaks against the -ae hypothesis and favours the -ās hypothesis. --Florian Blaschke (talk) 14:52, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
