please keep this article. on Wikipedia:MUSIC, Criteria for musicians and ensembles, I think he'd match these criteria if this helps:

  1. 5. Has released two or more albums on a major label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of whom are notable). (Obese Records is the largest independent Australian hip hop label & he's had 2x solo albums + the gully platoon album. also he's collaborated on other artists' albums, including M-Phazes' album which won an ARIA award)
  2. 9. Has won or placed in a major music competition. (eg triple j unearthed 2004 - I think for independent Australian music it's one of the few awards available to artists)
