Meaning of Name[edit]

Massive expansion required[edit]

It's amazing the great Diarmait mac Maíl na mBó has such a brief article. The extent of his involvements was vast.

In case anyone was unaware, his modern descendants are the MacMurrough Kavanagh Princes of Leinster,[1] through his notorious namesake Diarmait Mac Murchada. The family have been fighting over the title, and for wider recognition, for like a century or something. Another strange development has been the Prince of Leinster's "popular" exclusion from the list of claimants to the High Kingship, which the MacMurrough Kavanaghs rightly dispute, considering mac Maíl na mBó's spectacular career. A good person on occasion, I should probably discuss the whole Ard Rí claimants situation at more length in the Gaelic nobility of Ireland article.

The Milnamow clan in the USA would like to take claim as descendants. We can find records in County Longford in late 1700s and arrived in the US in the 1840s.
