Usage of citations along with wikilinks plus Spanish words to avoid original research[edit]

While finding sources for this article, a slight problem was encountered in the naming convention used by different cited authors and even the articles here on Wikipedia. As best I can, I have used citations to document the names as I found them and then wikilinked them to the appropriate Wikipedia article.

One example of this is José María Verdugo's name which has accents on the "e" and "i". However, when I initially typed that name into the Wikipedia search box to the left, no article was found. Several suggestions showed and his article here had no accents on those letters. But, when I read the article I noted that someone had already placed accented letters in that article's lead and subsequent paragraphs. Seeing as the accented letters were already, I thought "why not move the article as all the sources and its article here have accented letters. If the gentle reader looks at that article's talkpage, you'll see the discussion there about that matter.

Another great example is the Mexican viceroy's name. The reliable sources said his name was Miguel de la Grúa Talamanca de Branciforte for which his Wikipedia article has the English named convention of of Branciforte but yet the lead paragraph has full formal Spanish naming convention which is more correct. Guess what? I aint moving that article no matter how WP:BOLD I feel now.

Finally, from the Mission San José I found a wikilink to History of San Jose, California that was wikilinked to Pueblo of San José. To avoid copyios with using the same words like site, settlement or town that appear as a one-liner referenced in this article (but with the words changed to avoid the copyvio and WP:NOR, I went with the Spanish word pueblo which is very appropropriate for this period of early California history.

I trust that future editors will respect the work I did in fleshing out this article. It has not been easy but I do because the WP:California project had this article as one of its articles needing improvement and upgrade from Stub class. At this point as I write this message, the article is Start class but I am not yet done fleshing out de Borica's article.

Basically, he was a soldier, then an explorer who became the governor. Future citations will show how he helped to develop missions like Mission San José. In his own way along with Felipe de Neve, whose article I also worked on, these were two key Governors of Las Californias.

In 1795 Borica gave a land grant of Rancho Refugio[edit]

In 1795 Borica gave a land grant of Rancho Refugio "Ranch of Our Lady of Refuge" in present day Santa Cruz County, to José Francisco Ortega. (in 1813 the grant again confirmed by Governor José Joaquín de Arrillaga, also again by Mexican Governor José Figueroa to Antonio María Ortega.[10]

I believe the paragraph is confusing Rancho Refugio[1] in Santa Cruz county with Rancho Nuestra Señora del Refugio[2] in present day Santa Barbara County.

Military advance as governor[edit]

What does this topic mean?

Shouldn't land grants issued by Borica be under a separate section or header?
