Digger or Diggeress?[edit]

I remember her being called "Digger" until about the time of the second wave of feminism, 1970-1980. I strongly doubt she was called "Diggeress" from birth, because the word was unknown and would have sounded strange back then. So far as I know she did not change her gender.
