Full Accounting of Dion Lim Involvement in Chesa Boudin recall
Dion Lim was involved in the recall of Chesa Boudin in a significant way, well beyond typical news coverage. Perhaps this would go under a controversy section but Lim published a later-retracted article, falsely indicating that Boudin dropped charges against a suspect. Lim claimed it was based on multiple sources though it was of course untrue. Lim then pressured the Good Samaritan involved as well as the anonymous victim into giving negative quotes about Boudin after telling them falsely that the charges had been dropped. Both the anonymous victim and the Good Samaritan claim that Lim intentionally misled them and expressed regret ("I feel like I was played for a fool,” and “Honestly. I felt a little violated.").
Presenting Lim's confrontations with Boudin without mentioning this feels severely misleading. There are a wealth of sources documenting this but was best documented in the Washington Post in an article titled 'The bogus backlash against progressive prosecutors'. Perhaps all mention of Boudin, including this episode, would fit under an expanded section documenting Lim's involvement in the 2022 recall election. Open to suggestions but feels clear that this is newsworthy and documented public information which ought to be a part of this story. Bradendomier (talk) 19:59, 13 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
