One breaches or contravenes a court order

The article says the subject "broke a court order". I see that the word "broke" is used by a NZ Herald cited source], but I think that using that wording is too informal. Newshub reports that "Breckenridge breached a parenting order", which is more precise. Although section 78 of the Care of Children Act terms this offence as contravention of a parenting order, the Community Law Centre also uses the term "breach" to describe not following this type of court order.
