First evidence of an exoplanet[edit]

It seems that the first evidence that exoplanets existed was obtained in 1917. The contamination of the spectra of van Maanen's Star, a white dwarf, signaled the presence of an exoplanet in the near past. This was realized in 2016 according to NASA:

Bar graph outdated[edit]

Hi there, I just want to let people know that the graph with the bars on the current status of planet finding by method is out of date. The last update was October 2010 and as far as I know, there are a lot of new planets discovered after that date. How about the Kepler finding of roughly 1200 planets for example? At least some of those should already be confirmed.

What do you people think? :) 83.136.195.130 (talk) 08:19, 24 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How is this a section of this article? There goes all reputability. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.218.24.11 (talk) 17:22, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
