Merger

[edit]

The result was merge Disney Channel New Zealand into Disney Channel Australia. -- Eliethesame 12:17, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agree - this page should be merged with DC NZ page, as it is my understanding they are both the same channel. (Ross-australia-83 05:32, 7 February 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Agree - they both are the same channel, when it first started to air in New Zealand, the Australian channel started to provide a mailing address for Australia and another one for New Zealand, which would mean that they are the same. 211.30.94.223 03:07, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree - They're two of the same things. Added, on DisneyChannel.net international Disney Channel listings website provided by Disney, New Zealand wasn't part of the list. It should be assumed that Disney Channel Australia should be kept as is, but merge Disney Channel New Zealand to Disney Channel Australia. --AOL Alex 02:18, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Strongly Disagree: Then how come they advertise in nz time in nz. Example: They advertise Hannah Montana for 5:30pm and it comes on at 5:30pm. Australia's 2 hours behind nz. If it was just an Aus channel than in nz it would advertise 3:30 but come on at 5:30. If it was both it would advertise both times, but it just advertises the NZ times for all the programmes. So it is IMPOSIBLE! that it can be the exact channel airing at the exact time. DC NZ could just be on a time difference but that makes it a different channel. Just like channels, Cartoon Network Too, Nick Jr. 2, Nick 2. Counter that. If you can't by Febuary I will seperate the pages.  wwesocks  05:05, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I moved the page to Disney Channel Australia and New Zealand. I think that should do  wwesocks  06:35, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

wwesocks, inside Australia itself there are 3 different timezones, which would mean that if the times are displayed the same everywhere, that some of the states would get it at a different time. They obviously adjust the time to suit each timezone. Also, on www.disneychannel.net the channel is called Disney Channel Australia, and there is no separate mentioning of an NZ channel. Also, if you try to go to www.disneychannel.co.nz, it redirects you to www.disneychannel.com.au, with a title of Disney Channel Australia. Although you may like it to be called Aust & NZ, Wikipedia is a place where the correct namings should be used. If in the future Disney decides to change it to Aust & NZ, you may accordingly rename the page. Eliethesame (talk) 05:15, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree with above comment - In New Zealand whenever I go to disneychannel.com.au it redirects me to disneychannel.co.nz. I believe it reads your I.P. address and redirects you to your countries official Disney Channel website.

Technically Disney Channel NZ is managed by Disney Channel Australia and they air everything at the same time as it would be in that country. Though I agree with the merge.

Fair use rationale for Image:Oflcg.png

[edit]

Image:Oflcg.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The image Image:Dcukoriginalident.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Programming section

[edit]

I have something to address. The current, upcoming, and former programming should be sub sections of Programming. Only on a list of programs article are they their own sections. Current programming should just be original, acquired, shorts, and reruns. No need for all those other little sub-sections. Upcoming programming should only list series, shorts, and films. New episodes just clutter up the section. Former programming should be divided into sections. I hope my discussion clears the disputes. 172.56.29.109 (talk) 10:30, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Change programming section. Remove upcoming because no reliable sources can be found. All programming goes into one section. It will be divided into:

Current programming

[edit]

Original

[edit]

Acquired

[edit]

Shorts

[edit]

Reruns

[edit]

172.56.28.240 (talk) 22:28, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done: I have removed the "Future programming" section per your request and WP:V. I have not implemented your request to change the current programming section, since it appears to be organized with shorts and reruns as subsections of both original programming and acquired programming. In other words, some of the shorts and reruns fall under "original programming", while other shorts and reruns fall under "acquired programming". Mz7 (talk) 03:42, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Remove upcoming programming section. A vandal re added it. There are no sources other than a fan account on Twitter. 208.54.90.177 (talk) 13:12, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Done Twitter is not normally a reliable source whilst, as an example, the cited feed for Ant farm gives "there will be new #PhineasAndFerb and #GoodLuckCharlie in March. New #ANTFarm in April." whereas it is now May. - Arjayay (talk) 17:09, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Remove dates for the reruns. The first listings are the USA dates copied from the respective articles. There is also no evidence for the dates it began reruns. Move the Australian airdates (on the last few reruns) to the former programming section. 172.56.2.189 (talk) 10:48, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Note: I agree that the layout of the page is in horrible disarray and it is difficult to see what is what and where certain pieces of information came from, and I've tagged it as such so that hopefully it will be re-written sooner than later. As far as to where the rerun data is, from a check of a few of the linked articles, there actually may be sources on those pages as to rerun dates and such, and since I don't have time to go through all of it (I expect it will take at least a few hours), that is the second reason I marked it for a re-write. You may wish to create an account, request an account be made for you, or draft up a good re-write in a sandbox for this article. — {{U|Technical 13}} (tec) 15:47, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Programming

[edit]

I changed the programming, so I am going to explain my changes. I made Current, Former, and Future programming subsections of Programming. I fixed incorrect capitalization. I removed upcoming programming without a specific date. This is as per WP:CRYSTAL. I removed Original and Acquired programming sections. The channel doesn't have any original shows. All of them are acquired, thus making the section redundant. I kept all of the other sub-sections. I hope my edits were clear and if you want to change the layout, we can discuss. 66.87.82.205 (talk) 10:41, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Page move

[edit]

@Socks 01: Just wondering if it is protocol to rename channel pages such as this (as there was no discussion about it)? My main concern is that when the network stops broadcasting in Australia, the page title won't reflect that it also aired in New Zealand? Do you have any thoughts about this? Thanks. SatDis (talk) 08:53, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I also want to propose that we shouldn't include the NZ close date in the infobox, as the NZ start date isn't noted either.SatDis (talk) 09:01, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
