Problem with district articles[edit]

It appears like most districts are named after the biggest town in them. Should we have separate articles for the towns and the districts then, or should it be the same? This is kind of tricky, and I dont know how to solve it.

IMHO we should look at developing the district articles into full-fledged articles, with lists of the various municipalities that fall within the districts. Rarelibra 19:12, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds like a good idea. I dont have the time for it at the moment, but I think its the road to walk in the future. Thanks for your comment. --Screensaver 20:14, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures need to be Updated[edit]

Well, some of the pictures we are using to show the districts in each province are "outdated" & need to be edited to reflect the way Zambia's land is today. In General, the image which was put under the "Provincial Districts" section by User:Peter in s is exactly how Zambia's land is shared today & we need each & every province's image to look as it is in the mentioned image.

Here's a detail of what needs to be edited:

In Muchinga Province, Mpika District was split into 3 districts. While one part remained as "Mpika District", the other two were named "Kanchibiya District" & "Lavushimanda District". Also, "Chama District" needs to be removed from this image & added to the image for "Eastern Province".

In Eastern Province, Lundazi District was split into 3 districts. While one part remained as "Lundazi District", the other two were named "Chasefu District" & "Lumezi District". Chipata District was split into 3 districts. While one part remained as "Chipata District", the other two were named "Chipangali District" & "Kasenengwa District". Petauke District was split into two districts. While one part remained as "Petauke District", the other part was named "Lusangazi District". Also, as already mentioned, we need "Chama District" removed from the Muchinga Province image & added to this image.

In Northern Province, Mbala District was split into two districts. While one part remained as "Mbala District", the other part was named "Senga Hill District". Mporokoso District was split into two districts. While one part remained as "Mporokoso District", the other part was named "Lunte District". Luwingu District was split into two districts. While one part remained as "Luwingu District", the other part was named "Lupososhi District".

In North-Western Province, Solwezi District was split into 3 districts. While one part remained as "Solwezi District", the other two were named "Mushindamo District" and "Kalumbila District".

In Luapula Province, Samfya District was split into two districts. While one part remained as "Samfya District", the other part was named "Chifunabuli District".

The unmentioned images are all appearing correct at present. But the mentioned images need to be edited as I have described here. Please, may anybody who has access to the technology for editing these images do the edits for Wikipedia. I see @Peter in s: & @Lightonphiri: are the ones who placed these images here.

Hallo, I mainly work in Wiki DE. up to now we are up to date there. Please look there. Regards Peter in s (talk) 19:00, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Good work. I've found the images on Wikimedia Commons (https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Maps_of_districts_of_Zambia). When I have a moment, I will replace these outdated images mentioned above with the ones you & other authors produced, as those images show the districts of Zambia as they are. Thanks. Thanks. While working, I noticed that it isn't just the pictures that are not longer up to date. The text in the articels for the districts also need to be revised. And the data for the Census 2022 are out. But that's some work and I would leave it to a native speaker. Regards Peter in s (talk) 06:29, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
