Fascist sympathies[edit]

Given Utkin's SS tattoos, a section explaining his fascist sympathies should be included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:14C:8380:DD90:D4C8:452C:607A:9BFD (talk) 15:41, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Given this article is potentially embarassing to the Russian government, and the amount of edits, I have requested protection. 80.200.124.19 (talk) 11:16, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Who cares if it makes Russia look stupid? They have no say or standing in anything whatsoever. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:601:1B80:2530:D004:DDFF:C110:2907 (talk) 16:51, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve checked and this photo isn’t confirmed to be him. The most there is linking it to him is by using a known passport photo and taking AI to see facial similarities which skimmed a probability hit. The passport photo is confirmed and available however. I would also refrain from calling him a neo-Nazi or at least add the word suspected or highlight possible tendencies. Biased article otherwise. It's just another MI6 or CIA-authored article at Wikpedia. What would be the point of attempting to edit it for accuracy? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:2F8:1F:355:8C85:FFCC:3EE8:3582 (talk) 08:35, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 30 October 2022[edit]

Remove "Utkin hasn't been since 2016."

This sentence is incomplete Sander makes no sense. Nitroba (talk) 13:06, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Nitroba: I've reworded the sentence to say "made any public appearances" to correspond to the Foreign Policy source. Please let me know if there are still issues. ~~ lol1VNIO👻 (I made a mistake? talk to me) 14:30, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

He appeared in Wagner video in Belarus, one where Prigozhin said "Welcome to hell". 94.254.191.60 (talk) 08:21, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Place of birth[edit]

Ignoring everything else about the guy, but this page claims he was born in Kirovohrad Oblast of the Ukrainian SSR, meanwhile the Russian, Ukrainian and German pages claim he's born in Asbest, RF (then RSFSR). These are the only pages I checked, but it honestly seems really out of place for him to be born in Central Ukraine, considering Kirovohrad is majority Ukrainian. WhisperFear98 (talk) 19:02, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've just checked other languages, French, Polish all mention Asbest as well (Dutch says Smoline), clearly there should be a source for this, maybe it's even a misinformation campaign to pretend he's Ukrainian? Vhvbe (talk) 09:05, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ditto. I'm also trying to find a verifiable source which claims he was born in Ukrainian. The Voice of American (voanews.com) source cited on that sentence has no mention of his birthplace. eyeCommented (talk) 09:03, 27 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The following sentence seems to lack a "not":

Utkin did made any public appearances from 2016 until his death.

and probably should be changed to:

Utkin did not make any public appearances from 2016 until his death.

Jenom (talk) 18:02, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Already done A different editor changed it to Utkin made his last public appearance in 2016. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 00:30, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Death?[edit]

The Tver crash is yet to be verified. Nobody actually knows if the persons including Yevgeny Prigozhin on that flight are dead as of now. The header does not list a death date, but there is a clarifier saying he died. Rather like the Yevgeny Prigozhin page, the clarified should state that he is presumed dead. MetricPin (talk) 18:14, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Update: A death date has been edited into the article, yet that still is misleading. The clarifier should state that he is presumed dead until a reliable source confirms his death, or rather not. MetricPin (talk) 18:20, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unconfirmed death reports[edit]

Utkin is rumored to have been amongst the people killed in the Tver plane crash alongside Prigozhin and others. Shouldn't something about these rumors be added into the article? Racos345 (talk) 18:16, 23 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Difference in Utkin and Prigozhin articles[edit]

The Prigozhin article makes it clear that he is presumed dead whereas this article on Utkin makes it appear unambiguously true 675930s (talk) 04:04, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Tver Plane Crash[edit]

This article references the plane crash that presumably killed Prigozhin and Utkin (details still developing). There is a wikipedia article on this, currently called 2023 Tver plane crash, (may be renamed, in discussion). I propose that it is linked within this article. I can not directly edit this article. If editors with editing rights agree, please do so. LWu22 (talk) 20:12, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
