Questionable Sources[edit]

This article cites Russian state controlled sources (Russia Today, Life News, etc.), which have proven to be highly questionable. Yeah, point well-taken. IMO RT actually provides a lot of good fact reporting in general, as biased as it is. But when it comes to this issue, including Putin's Crimea adventure, it turns into a shameless propaganda tool of the Kremlin. I would probably agree that until corroboration by a reliable source, it doesn't belong at all. For now, I've taken it out of WP's voice pending the production of a more reliable source. There’s a bit on the specific subject in Fascist (insult), Media portrayal of the Russo-Ukrainian War, and Disinformation in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Kuzio has an article on the history of the usage,[1] and if you have access, this book review has a concise paragraph on the similar Russian/Soviet slur nationalist, which comes from bourgeois nationalist.[2]

Killed?[edit]

Some sources (preliminary Russian) stated that he was killed near Illovaysk on 2 Septemeber. See e.g. http://www.mk.ru/politics/2014/09/02/smi-poverili-tvitteru-yarosh-ubit-pod-ilovayskom.html or http://www.pravda.ru/news/world/formerussr/ukraine/02-09-2014/1224308-smi-0/ . There were reports he was badly wounded in the neck. Migth be from battle with army of Novorussia, some also say he was removed by Kiev, went to problematic and treat to Kiev politicians. --94.140.88.117 (talk) 19:46, 13 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WP:UNDUE[edit]

IMHO the quotes section in particular gives undue weight to his most outrageious remarks taken out of context and little is said of his more level headed talks. This looks like POV warring and it may be time for a template on the mainspace if there is not more balance in this article which cherry picks items to make him look a lot more wreckless than he seems at times to actually be. For instance he stated to an interviewer that he tolerated people who were ideologically opposed to Ukrainian national awaking if they did not take action to harm the cause of the nation. That is a bit more reasonable than this picture of "Interpol's Most Wanted" which this article suggests. Any thoughts?Wikidgood (talk) 02:41, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
