Both?

[edit]

Does this count as both a deck- and a through-arch bridge? - Denimadept (talk) 21:47, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Puente Don Luis I, Oporto, Portugal, 2012-05-09, DD 13.JPG will be appearing as picture of the day on February 10, 2014. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2014-02-10. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. Thanks! — Crisco 1492 (talk) 00:20, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dom Luís Bridge
The Dom Luís Bridge is a 172-metre (564 ft) long metal arch bridge that spans the Douro River between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal. Designed by Téophile Seyrig, construction was completed in 1886.Photograph: Diego Delso

Concluding sentence

[edit]

The last sentence is incomplete or does not quite make sense ("The earlier bridge only has one deck, however, even though they resemble each other.")

Perhaps it should be re-cast to, "However although they bear some resemblance to each other, the earlier bridge has only one deck."

However I'm reluctant to make any changes, as I have no expertise in bridges, and had never heard of the 2 bridges in question until this article.203.6.146.5 (talk) 06:42, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you, and I have now revised the sentence. SJ Morg (talk) 08:15, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
