Greetings, Wikipedians. This is my very first article, and I'd appreciate any constructive comments and help with it. I haven't yet mastered all the formatting or digested all the Wikipedia guidelines, but I feel it's important to make this small contribution to knowledge concerning a little-known ethnic group, based on third-party source materials I discovered in the course of my own genealogical research and correspondence. I'm also hoping that in the course of time, any other researchers who can add to what little information I've gleaned will do so via Wikipedia.Textorus 01:15, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- It would help to have an article about Dominicker chickens, so there's some context to the name. --Fang Aili talk 13:57, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks much for the edits, Erica; they do make a better flow. And I didn't know how to get the small picture at the top of the page. You're right about the article on the chickens; being a city fella, I had to google for days to find out just what they were when this subject first came to my attention. I'll see if I can work up at least a rudimentary article on them, first chance I get. Textorus 21:30, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
I happened to find the existing Wikipedia article on Dominique (Dominicker) chickens, which I expanded a bit and linked to from here. Textorus 23:07, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Melungeons?
[edit]Perhaps a link to the article on the Melungeons would be appropriate as they are an ethnic group of similar origin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.246.222.7 (talk • contribs)
Good suggestion; I've already included the Dominickers as a link to my article from a list of similar groups found in the Melungeon article. Textorus 23:32, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
