Album art

[edit]

the image art is an alternate (Japanese) cover of the album not the song, so I erased it. Lijahrobrt (talk) 03:00, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Power ballad as genre

[edit]

A reliable source backs up the fact that this song is a power ballad, so the genre has been re-added, and it should not be removed again. Unless you would like to argue that Billboard is not a reliable source. --Pokerdance (talk/contribs) 20:45, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that power ballad is not a genre, it is a type of song that cuts across many genres. Since this is a good reliable source, I removed it from the genre field of the infobox where it does not belong and placed it in the body of the article replacing a wikilink to song. Aspects (talk) 20:58, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Your original research is not the deciding factor in whether or not power ballad is a genre. It is confirmed in a reliable source, and you have no right to remove it without better reason than your own opinion. Pokerdance (talk/contribs) 03:03, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you look at the article for power ballad, just like ballad (music), you would see that it is not described or categorized as being a genre, so that would not be original research on my part. Like I explained above, power ballad is a type of song not a genre, therefore it does not belong in the genre field of the infobox. I did not remove the term power ballad, I simply placed it in a more appropriate place. Aspects (talk) 18:38, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
A "power ballad" is simply not a musical genre. It is not original research in the slightest to point out to someone that an apple isn't an orange. I've seen some silly claims in the Wikipedia, but this takes the prize. Tarc (talk) 23:02, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
While it may not be a genre of music, it is a type of song that this is. And being a smartass will get you nowhere in life. Pokerdance (talk/contribs) 23:11, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So you think it may not be a music genre, yet you still placed in the in the genre field of the infobox? You admit it is a type of song and yet you reverted my edit that moved the term from the genre field of the infobox into the article replacing a wikilink to song, [1]. You also seem to be edit warring here instead of discussing it to reach a consensus. Aspects (talk) 06:35, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is a type of song. Sure, it can't be considered a genre for a whole album in most cases, but couldn't it be for a song? Pokerdance (talk/contribs) 06:53, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Power ballad is not a genre, not for an album and not for a song. Aspects (talk) 07:08, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
A power ballad is a characteristic of a song, referring to the style, tempo, etc...how a song sounds is not a genre. And for the record, my life and career are based on being nothing but a smartass, so in actually I've gotten quite far. :) I am touched by your concern though, truly. Changing to song

[edit]

I'm changing this from single to song now. I used to believe the contrary, but this isn't a single. There's absolutely no proof that this was ever released. it's like Eminem's Space Bound, it had a music video, it was treated as a single, but it was simply never released. I spent many hours back in July to try and find some proof of this song's release, but I, and User:Novice7, found absolutely nothing, so I just used Billboard's review of the song as a source, which, in a way, "confirmed" it as a single. But it clearly isn't enough. Pancake (talk) 18:36, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Don't forget is a single, this article is ORIGINally written as "Single", and just changed after 2 years. It received Radio promotion, and it was promoted as single. Also Space Bound is a single, and just like you said Billboard's review of the song as a source, which, in a way, "confirmed" it as a single so it should be SINGLE even though it has no artwork. --Merida08 (talk) 12:23, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The song is a single

[edit]

I found a source where it says dont forget is single here is the reference (in Spanish)--SummerMen (talk) 16:20, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The source doesn't confirm the song's release. There's only a fan-made cover, not a release date or anything. And I don't think Coveralia is reliable, it appears to be user-generated. Pancake (talk) 16:24, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Here other source: [2] (the source are from february 19, 2009 ) — Preceding unsigned comment added by SummerMen (talkcontribs) 17:42, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's a blog. Pancake (talk) 18:07, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah this song has an official cover according to many sources and iTunes. I find the most reliable source to be iTunes. So if you could take a look in that please. And also, please do not delete my edits. I researched every single detail I added.

thanks, Jayythehuman — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayythehuman (talkcontribs) 03:23, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Researched? You clearly didn't even add a source. I'm reverting. Pancake (talk) 05:56, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Um, I told you the source. iTunes. Also, don't get attitude with me! Please revert to single.

Jayythehuman — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayythehuman (talkcontribs) 22:26, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You can't just say that you found something on iTunes, without providing a link to it, and expect it to be OK for inclusion on Wikipedia. And I think it's you who should lose the attitude. Pancake (talk) 18:01, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay one, you can't provide a link for iTunes, two, you must not know who I am. I don't want any trouble. So, just don't get tough with me. Got it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayythehuman (talkcontribs) 03:18, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

1) Yes you can. 2) No I don't know who you are and why would that even matter? Pancake (talk) 10:08, 10 February 2012

Wait no, I made a mistake. whoops. Sorry for any trouble I caused you.

The song is a single. In the article, it says that; "It was later made available for digital download on the iTunes Store on April 7, 2009." Here is the "reliable source":[1] Streamerlovesmusic (talk) 07:55, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, its music video was released on that date, not the song. Pancake (talk) 20:49, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You were asking for an official cover? here it is: source. --Music fanhere (talk) 18:24, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Coverlandia is not reliable. It's a site for people to submit fan-made covers. Pancake (talk) 13:03, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I think that "Don't Forget" is a single. The reason is because she wouldn't release a single if there wasn't a music video. Well, the song has a music video and is recognized as a single in many websites. If you still don't think it's a single, then put it as a promotional single. The reason is because she promoted the "song" by releasing a music video. Please don't put it as "other songs" because the music video does signify if it is a single or a promotional single. 203.97.167.3 (talk) 03:36, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Don't Forget" was treated like a single, yes, but it was not released, which means that it's neither a single nor a promotional single. Both singles and promotional singles are released in some way, so this is just a song that received a music video. It is possible that it was planned to be released as a single, but that never happened. Please read the three discussions above before making a new one about basically the same thing. Thanks :) Pancake (talk) 17:19, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
FINALLY! Here's the "reliable source" that "Don't Forget" IS a single! It was released on March 16, 2009.[3] Streamerlovesmusic (talk) 06:22, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No that's not reliable. That site also incorrectly claims that "Catch Me" was a single. Pancake (talk) 15:00, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Is this a "reliable source" that "Don't Forget" is a single?[4] Streamerlovesmusic (talk) 10:21, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, Streamerlovesmusic, isn't, because no say that is single (it have the album's cover). I'm think that i find other source that "Don't Forget" is a single. (Same) It was released on March 16, 2009. [5].--190.87.50.115 (talk) 12:20, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the link to the interview with Demi. She spoke about release of "Don't Forget". [6] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wyrywny (talkcontribs) 07:02, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

On MTV's The Ride Demi said that "Don't Forget" was a single. (15:50) [7]

The song is a single. Hollywood Records released a CD single for the track in Canada and USA. Discogs is a reliable source.[2] Anonpediann (talk) 11:08, 28 August 2015 (UTC) [reply]
