About a song by The Treniers...[edit]

...the good spelling is "Rockin'on a Sunday night" originally issued on Okeh/COLUMBIA-CBS # 6904, US, August 1952...S. Koenig - My pleasure, indeed!

Again, why are you not using your registered username? Anyway, according to the Okeh/Columbia compilation CD "They Rock! They Roll! They Swing!" the proper title is "Rocking on Sunday Night." I believe this is also the title displayed in the opening credits of the movie. 23skidoo 14:07, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bill Haley songs category[edit]

There is a brief reference to the single from which this film takes its name, so that justifies categorizing it thus, and also adding it to the Songs WikiProject, however a section on the song itself will need to be added. I'll try and do so when I have time. 23skidoo 14:52, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted material[edit]

An anonymous IP user added a large amount of copy to this article on Jan. 1 which I have regretfully reverted. My rationale for doing so is too much of the material consisted of essay-like, POV statements verging on movie review. Comments such as Alan Dale's career being in a slump at the time need sources for verification. A general description of the plot and basic information is fine without citation as the film is the source, but making comments such as "audiences didn't come for the plot" are unacceptable on Wikipedia unless there's a source that actually says this. Of course, quoting (with attribution) reviewers and other writers commenting on the film is fine. 23skidoo (talk) 00:01, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Factual correction[edit]

Corrected a reference to the title coming from a Haley hit as the song in question was written for the film and didn't become a hit until released in conjunction. The movie's writer also co-wrote the song. I wonder if the Alan Dale rendition was even released? 2604:3D09:1F74:1C00:2D4B:9B96:DB66:7DFD (talk) 05:49, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
