Too much Randi[edit]

The length of the Randi stuff is totally disproportionate to the size of this article, and is totally my fault.

Needs a lot more work on Lane's 60's and 70's career - any takers?

"National and personal apology to Randi" (?)[edit]

"The aftermath of the event led to a national and personal apology to Randi, which was televised through the Nine Network. It was evident on a 1996 episode of This is Your Life dedicated to Lane, that Lane and Randi had settled their differences. Randi made an appearance on the show wishing Lane all the best and many congratulations."

Any citation for the above? - not casting doubt, but nothing found in my (limited) references, and my personal recollections also drew a blank.

Don Lane & The Coffee Tables[edit]

Article does not state why this musical band is so named. Format 07:38, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We all heard the "coffee table" rumour - which is totally unsubstantiated - many years ago. Anything on that subject would, IMHO, be in breach of countless Wikipedia rules.

Autobiography[edit]

I understand his recently released autobiography makes either no reference to Bert Newton, or just passing reference. Totally out of whack with the large part Bert played in his career. Is this true (I haven't read it and don't plan to)? And if so, does it need mentioning in the article? JackofOz 11:34, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Citizenship[edit]

Lane is referred is categorized as being a "Naturalized Citizen of Australia" but there is no mention of his ever being an Australian citizen. Could someone provide this information in the article with citation?(24.62.126.170 (talk) 07:08, 23 June 2010 (UTC))[reply]

James Randi Confrontation[edit]

The portion of the article that reports on Don Lane walking off during his show with James Randi as guest is marked as "citation needed". Would this YouTube clip of the incident be an appropriate source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.175.235.210 (talk) 17:17, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Radio Career Section: Poor Writing or Missing Details[edit]

"Newton claims that the joke was worth it to see Lane's reaction but that Lane repaid him for the practical joke." - no details are given for how this alleged payback was inflicted, making the entire mention of payback completely redundant. I think you should either provide more details of the alleged payback, or not mention it. หมีขั้วโลก (talk) 03:20, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
