Smith and Friendly's
[edit]I feel like extra information should be added:
- Smith's involvement with the McDonald's breakfast menu
- his doubling of BK's profits
- his involvement with Pizza Hut's personal pan pizza
- his investment group(the Tennessee Restaurant Company)'s acquisitions of Perkins Cake & Steak(which he'd rename Perkins Family Restaurants in 1987) in 1985 when he formed the TRC
- their acquisition of their rival Friendly Ice Cream/Restaurants(which he'd rename Friendly's in 1989) in 1988
- his failed attempts at improving the Friendly's brand
- Prestley Blake's resentment of Smith's direction for Friendly's
- Curtis feeling somewhat sympathetic to Smith's cause
- the TRC under Smith selling off Friendly's to Sun Capital Partners allegedly and seemingly due to pressure from Prestley and other investors
