Walsh reporton Iran-Contra, Chapter 29 "Donald P. Gregg" Great resource, barely tapped.

Iran/Contra Whitewash Continues?[edit]

No mention of his running Iran/Contra right out of VP Bush's office? One of the CIA-connected workers on the ground in Central America (I believe it was Hasenfus) had Gregg's business card in his pocket. C'mon!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:582:4600:1120:887C:3D95:AC2B:327F (talk) 14:53, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

President George Bush, Sr?[edit]

Though both named George Bush, Bush the elder and Bush the younger are not Senior and Junior because their middle names differ. More Wiki sloppiness. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.220.193.142 (talk) 01:07, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Extraneous note in the article moved here[edit]

I found this in the body of the article & thought it belonged here instead: [NOTE: The original author's elaboration of Gregg's involvement in the Iran-Contra Affair is speculative]Revanneosl (talk) 01:01, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

This article cited Spartacus Schoolnet as a reference. This site has been repeatedly discussed at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard WP:RSN. It is a self-published source WP:SPS that cannot be used as a reference for a Wikipedia article.[1]. Self-published sources can never be used in a BLP. WP:RSN References to this source have been removed and replaced with a tag. The associated text has been retained for now. Better sources must be found for this text; text that is not supported by an inline reference to a Reliable Source may be removed.Fladrif (talk) 00:03, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Career[edit]

Moved from article as unsourced/speculative and contradicting Gregg's own CV:

(It is not known if Gregg worked in the Miami JM/WAVE office, as Webster Tarpley and Anton Chaitkin claim,[better source needed] or if he knew Bush from that time, when the latter was CEO of Zapata Corporation.) Gregg then served in Burma (1964–1966), Japan (1966–1969), and Vietnam (1970–1972). In Vietnam, he worked on the Phoenix Program, where he reported to Ted Shackley. (In 1976, when Bush was director of the CIA, Shackley became Bush's Associate Deputy Director for Operations, the third-highest post at the agency.)
