He was considered the best baseball player out of Clarksville TN, He just died from drowning. He had a good chance of being a MLB player. The scouts knew he was going to play at Vanderbilt so that is why he was drafted in the 29th round. He he turned down bonus offers of $2.5 million from other teams in favor of attending college.[1] They don't offer that kind of money to just any 29th rounder unless they think the player will make an impact on there team. He was the 2015 Gatorade player of the year for Tennessee, Baseball America had ranked Everett 21st among prospects for the 2015 draft.[2]
From ESPN: Everett, who was a standout at Clarksville (Tennessee) High School, was considered to be a potential mid-first-round pick in the 2015 Major League Baseball draft -- Baseball America had ranked Everett 21st among prospects -- but remained steadfast in honoring his commitment to Vanderbilt. The Milwaukee Brewers, however, still took a chance, selecting the right-hander in the 29th round. At Clarksville High, where he was named the 2015 Gatorade Player of the Year in Tennessee, Everett threw a fastball that could hit 99 mph. ESPN Scouts Inc. said Everett had "the most pure arm strength of any high school arm in the class" and called him "the rare innings-eater who misses bats" and that "there's a strong possibility he becomes a reliever."[3]
