Toponymy[edit]

Hi Dave. One issue still outstanding from your FAC is the toponymy, which we discussed at the 14th bullet here. I'm still concerned about what seems to be OR/synth. Do you want to continue to press your Gaelic derivation, or should we simplify, as I suggested?  —SMALLJIM  17:55, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm happy with the simplification. I'm not certain that it quite reaches OR, but would rather not take the risk. WormTT(talk) 15:37, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK, done. But I'll keep an eye out for any sources that might provide a fuller or more recent derivation.  —SMALLJIM  22:30, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Capt. Claxton[edit]

"A Captain Claxton" is almost surely Capt. Christopher Claxton, R.N.,ɐ a Member of Parliament and vocal anti-Empancipation spokesman. --Wetman (talk) 01:24, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
