Quite the Improvement

[edit]

I am so happy that I improved this article. It had been so misconfigured and did not discuss many important parts of Dottie's life. It has been improved for the better. Chrzcline1961 19:51, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Historical Error

[edit]

Dottie was born in Smithville Tennessee (from what I was always told). Her mother and my dad were siblings. I was never fortunate enough to meet her, although she did send my dad get well cards when he was in Nashville Hospitals. From what I have been told from my dad's surviving siblings, her dad, Hollis was indeed a very cruel man. The house Dottie lived in for a small part of her youth, burned down a few years ago, it's at the bottom of a hill, just below Bain Cemetery, in the Belk community. My mother and her family (James and Callie Adcock - my maternal grandparents)also lived there before Hollis and Aunt Pelina ("Pliney" is what she was called) set up house. I did meet Dottie's sisters when my paternal grandmother (Margret "mammy" France Jones) passed away. Someday, I hope to meet Shelly, and show her around the old homeplace. I will be retiring from the USAF in a few months, and go home, to watch my children grow up in the same place my daddy (Tommie R. Jones)did. T.G. Jones

Dottie West was born in Frog Pond, Tennessee, a community outside of McMinnville, which I don't belive exists anymore. She moved to McMinnville, before the end of teenage years. For more information, you can visit her website, www.dottiewest.net. Dottiewest1fan 16:16, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fan Site

[edit]

Okay, I do not think this article resembles a fan site whatsoever. It's not like I'm saying "Dottie West is the greatest singer in the world, and anyone who doesn't like her should be condemned". What I am doing is stating true facts about her, and the article might look too long, but it's not. Trust me, it was even longer before, the article talks about the highs and lows of her career, not a fan site. Have you ever been to other articles, well they are longer than this one, so please reconsider what you said before, and this DOES NOT RESEMBLE A FAN SITE!!!! Dottiewest1fan 16:04, 30 September 2007 (UTC) Fan site or not a fan site, this article is real country. Richard8081 (talk) 11:10, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
