So did John Cale leave in 1970 or 1968? Lord Jim 03:24, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

It was 1968. leamanc

Personal Life.. Talks about a band he toured with, and mentions the band he currently plays with. These don't seem like personal life details to me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.98.241.230 (talk) 03:17, 24 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This article has taken a turn for the worst. Not very informative, and pretty off-base as far as historical record of Doug Yule. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.113.110.53 (talk) 00:09, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Early Life?[edit]

Where did he grow up? Did he have parents, etc.? Or are we supposed to believe he sprang fully formed from the brow of Lou Reed? Rosekelleher (talk) 22:49, 11 February 2013 (UTC) --[reply]

I deleted the part about wanting violin lessons because it didn't sound "encyclopedic" somehow. But it is interesting, because he became a violin maker later in life. It also shows that he wasn't a spoiled brat. If Lou Reed had wanted violin lessons as a child, you know he'd have gotten them. Yule always seems very humble in his interviews. What does that have to do with music? Nothing. But this isn't an article in a music journal, it's a biography. So I'm putting it back in, daredevil that I am. --Rosekelleher (talk) 13:45, 6 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Born in Boston or New York?[edit]

The article cites New York state, but the infobox states Boston, MA. (Sellpink (talk) 07:28, 23 January 2017 (UTC))[reply]

Squeeze[edit]

Nothing about "Squeeze"? GnuWhirled75.45.102.68 (talk) 18:00, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes - see the section headed "1970–73 (Loaded tour and final Velvet Underground shows)". Ghmyrtle (talk) 18:29, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"improving guitar technique"[edit]

End of the first sentence under the header: 1968–1970

"...Yule's improving guitar technique caught the ear of Sterling Morrison.[6]"

Is this a typo? Did the author mean to type "improvising"? As it stands, it really doesn't make sense or needs more context. This makes it sound like he was an okay guitarist, but was improving. Hardly an ear-catching thing. If you have the book, please check that reference. I'm inclined to just remove that word, since it's vague. ThreeRocks (talk) 23:12, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
