Best known version?[edit]

Mary Doran's may have been the best known version in 1971 when the sleeve notes for Briggs' album were written, but now? Mutt Lunker (talk) 00:09, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's only the "best known version" as per Annie Briggs' personal opinion.

Not Irish but English -[edit]

This is wrong, it isn't an Irish traditional, it's an English traditional. Referring to the River Blackwater in Essex.

One of the most famous Viking battles in Britain, the Battle of Maldon, took place directly beside the river in 991.
