More tech detail needed[edit]

We could benefit from a technical description of what is going on in the System diagram submitted by comcast to the FCC. I moved the ball forward in some of the description but at the time of this writing, the OpenCable site does not list any specs on DCAS. Purportedly, details may be found in draft 2.5 of the Opencable Host spec. No luck finding that online. I could take a stab at describing the system flow, but I would prefer to have a specification in front of me. In any case, documenting an unfinal spec is hazardous, especially given the controversies and political wrangling going surrounding this one. -Mak 21:30, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV[edit]

In my opinion, all the edits by users 216.91.141.130 and 75.44.47.194 show a POV bias. It seems easy to tell that both users (or possibly the same user) are involved in the sale of some 3rd party product to circumvent cable boxes. The edits are also less than encyclopedic.Zhinz 05:28, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CEA-2040 (ANSI)[edit]

The CEA is working on a new standard for conditional access, CEA-2040 (ANSI) "SD Card Common Interface Standard", which will allow an SD card to be used rather than a CableCard. Would this mitigate some of the issues DCAS?

Disclaimer: I work for a company that is promoting this standard - Nick Garnett 18:09, 18 July 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nickgarnett (talkcontribs)

FCC DSTAC[edit]

I don't think any reference to the 2015 DSTAC work is at all related to the 2007-8 "DCAS" work. Removing reference 7. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adamgoldberg (talkcontribs) 21:43, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
