This page news an infobox similiar to that of say Downtown Dallas showing the population and physical size of the area. I believe it's less than a square mile with 6,000 residents as 2000. --Criticalthinker (talk) 12:20, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For Downtown Detroit#Demographics , I couldn't find a citation. I did a bit of googling and found this: http://library.semcog.org/InmagicGenie/DocumentFolder/2010CensusDataDetroitQuickFacts.pdf which states that the central business district alone had a population of 5,292. Should we expand our definition of downtown beyond the CBD to include other neighborhoods listed in that pdf? Also, can we find any more recent numbers to illustrate how much downtown has been booming in the past two years?

No, I think it's best we continue to use the three census tracts that cover this area as "downtown" as has been the case for decades. And, until a special census is done by the downtown partnership, no, there is no new info, yet. Maybe someone will do one, until then, we need to leave the most basic aspects of this page alone. --Criticalthinker (talk) 06:12, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
